Seasonal residents

One doctor here who keeps up with you between seasons.

Many people split the year between Palm Beach County and somewhere else. Concierge care suits that well: one physician who knows your history in Florida, stays in touch with your doctors elsewhere, and is easy to reach when you are back.

When you arrive for the season

A doctor who has your records before you land makes the first weeks easier. With your permission, the office requests records from your physicians up north, so recent labs, imaging and medication changes are already in your chart.

Members are seen the same or next business day, so a cough that started on the drive down, or a prescription that needs adjusting, does not have to wait.

While you are here

Labs are drawn in the office, and ECGs and rapid flu, COVID-19 and strep tests are done there too. If you need a specialist, Dr. Shtern chooses one, makes the call and follows up on what they find. She is affiliated with Jupiter Medical Center and Palm Beach Gardens Medical Center.

When you head north

Before you leave, it helps to go over your medicines, refills and anything that should be followed up while you are away. With your permission, the office can send notes and results to your doctors at home so nobody starts from scratch.

Members can reach the practice by phone at any hour. Video visits work well for many follow-ups and results reviews, though licensing rules differ from state to state, so ask the office what applies where you will be.

Medicare in two places

Original Medicare works with participating doctors anywhere in the country, while Medicare Advantage plans usually use regional networks. Medicare explains the difference, and it matters if you see doctors in two states. The concierge fee itself is not covered by Medicare; visits and tests are billed as usual.
