For patients
Long-term conditions, followed closely between visits.
Blood pressure, diabetes, cholesterol, kidney and thyroid conditions do best with one doctor watching the whole picture. At Legacy Medical, that doctor is Dr. Shtern, every time.

One doctor for the whole picture
Chronic conditions rarely come one at a time. High blood pressure, diabetes, cholesterol and kidney function affect each other, and so do the medicines used to treat them. Dr. Shtern is board-certified in Internal Medicine and in Nephrology, so the kidney side of that picture is part of the same visit rather than a separate referral.
See hypertension and kidney care.
Medication management
One doctor keeps an eye on every prescription, dose and interaction. That matters most when several specialists are involved, when a kidney or liver condition changes how a medicine is cleared, or when a new prescription quietly duplicates an old one. Why a full medication review matters.
Between visits
Labs are drawn in the office and reviewed with you, home blood pressure readings can be sent in and discussed, and many check-ins can happen by video. When something changes, members are seen the same or next business day.
