Insurance and fees

What concierge medicine costs: a concierge fee, plus your insurance.

Legacy Medical is a concierge practice that still works with insurance. The concierge fee pays for access and time. Your insurance pays for visits and tests, as it does now.

The concierge fee

Members pay an annual fee directly to the practice. It covers what insurance does not pay for: a limited patient panel, same or next-business-day appointments, extended visits, 24/7 phone access and Dr. Shtern’s time coordinating your care.

The fee is not published online yet. Call (561) 834-9280 or ask at your tour and the office will go through it with you.

What insurance still pays for

Office visits, lab work, ECGs and other covered services are billed to your health insurance. Plans the practice works with include Medicare, Aetna, Cigna and BlueCross BlueShield. Coverage, copays and deductibles depend on your plan, so check with the office before your first visit.

Keep your insurance. The membership does not cover hospital care, specialists, imaging, emergency care or prescriptions.

Medicare

Medicare does not pay concierge fees. If you have Medicare, the fee is separate, and covered services at your visits are billed to Medicare under its usual rules. Ask the office how this works for your plan, including any Medicare Advantage or supplemental coverage.
